Dump The Chump: Why Do Women Divorce?
April 28, 2007
More wives than husbands are leaving what they call lifeless marriages in record numbers and filing for divorce. Many men say they never saw it coming according to Gail Rosenblum, of the Star Tribune (Source: startribune.com/389/story/1091028.html) Alicia Lahti knew that people viewed her 23-year marriage as happy. And why not? Her husband was “a wonderful man,” she said. Together they built a home and careers, traveled and raised two “brilliant kids,” now 17 and 21. So relatives and friends were shocked when, a year and a half ago, 46-year-old Lahti asked for a divorce. “I loved my husband, but I was not in love with him like you should be in love,” said Lahti of St. Louis Park. A growing number of women seem to be drawing the same conclusion. Although the first-time divorce rate has been declining since the 1970s, and now hovers just under 50 percent, there’s been an unmistakable increase in the percentage of midlife women like Lahti doing... NY Times Puts Lipstick On A Pig
February 8, 2007
Brothers! One morning Sam “Mangina” Roberts of the New York Times dished out a huge pile of horse-hockey out of his rear. And news channels and papers sucked this up as if it was gospel. Brace yourself brothers! Mangina Roberts is guilty of making up numbers for the 2005 US Census data in his article “51% of Women Are Now Living Without Spouse” (no link given to this pile of dung - search the engine Google for it). Marc Rudov over at Men’s News Daily pounces on it in our defense: “The NYT’s new conclusion is that, on average, only 49 percent of American women are married and living with their spouses — a new low. Breaking it down by race, this 49 percent average is: 30 percent of black women, 49 percent of Hispanic women, 55 percent of non-Hispanic white women, and 60 percent of Asian women. The article (by The New York Times) goes on to say that, despite the picture for married women, 53 percent of men are married and living with their spouses.... (more...)
Feminism’s Affect On Women
December 17, 2006
I’m inclined to believe that women just don’t understand us men. Women just can’t seem to understand that the only time smart men are willing to sign on the dotted line is when they’re young and horny, when they have no real assets to lose and before they really understand the principles of wealth creation (ie. early 20s). By the time smart men have a degree or two, a 401k and IRA, a house and a 6 figure income (or at least when they’re closing in on it) they’re not so keen to just give it away for yet another woman. Then when the smart men hit their 30’s and their sex drive drops (from being “yeah i’ll sign anything to get a bit” to “wait a minute, this means you get everything”); all of a sudden, life is under the control of the “big head” and women don’t seem perpelxed by us. Many women can’t seem to understand why we don’t act like horny teenagers anymore and these women refuse to accept... (more...)
Afraid to Commit: Smart Young Men Want to Wait on Marriage
November 23, 2006
So the smart men of the world want kids, houses and lots of nookie. And they want women also; but not with marriage. Not until they’ve aged a bit. So says the latest study to probe the minds of America’s smart young men, aged 25 to 33. The study found 10 reasons why men won’t commit. Reasons ranging from the ease of finding sex partners to the desire to avoid financial risks of divorce. The authors of the study, called The State of Our Unions, said they were puzzled by their findings, based on face-to-face group interviews with 60 heterosexual men in Chicago, Washington, D.C. New Jersey, and Houston. The majority of these men are employed full-time with reported annual incomes between $20,000 and $36,000. Most have had some college or hold a BA. None of the men were married; three had kids. The study also reached some additional conclusions. Among them: The men were highly critical of divorce. But they feel that couples should break up if they fall out of love, even... (more...)
